University Attributes:
Campus UL Lafayette's main campus consists of 137 acres; the Athletic complex and Cajundome sit on 243 acres; the new Research Park is on 148 acres; and the Center of Ecology and Environmental Technology has 51 acres. The university has a 600-acre farm laboratory, with a 30-acre pond for crawfish and catfish culture in Cade, Louisiana. It has a 48-acre New Iberia Research Center in New Iberia, Louisiana. UL Lafayette maintains more than 200 campus buildings. Academics UL Lafayette has 10 colleges and schools. It's accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Universities. The university Offers 64 undergraduate degree programs. Thirty-four graduate degree programs available. Doctor of Philosophy degree offered in Cognitive Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, English, Environmental & Evolutionary Biology, Mathematics & Statistics, cognitive sciences and Francophone Studies. UL Lafayette conducts individual college commencement exercises in the Fall and Spring of each year. About 1,100 students graduate each fall and spring. Renovation and expansion of Edith Garland Dupré Library is nearly complete. Faculty & Staff There are 646 full time/part time faculty. 15.37 percent of the university's faculty/professional staff are minority. Intensive English Program - UL Lafayette's Mission Statement: We are a small American English language and culture program located in Lafayette, Louisiana. The goal of the Intensive English Program (IEP) is to improve the English language and cultural skills of non-native English speakers and offer the preparation needed to meet the basic requirements for most universities. We have five 8-week sessions per year.
