University of Alaska Fairbanks
United States
University Attributes:
From northern lights to oceans and from northern culture to geologic formation, UAF is well-positioned to be a leader in understanding the Arctic and seeking responsible solutions to problems of Alaska, the nation and the world, especially issues about living and working in the North. UAF serves 170 communities in the great state of Alaska, and has its main campus in Fairbanks. Undergraduates have the opportunity to learn from and work with senior professors and be involved in hands-on research. We are competitive nationally for grants and contracts and our faculty have achieved international recognition for their research. Our partnerships are making it possible for UAF to expand. Our newest addition, the International Arctic Research Center, was funded through Japanese investment. As we build our future from the top of the world, we look toward new partnerships. Ten minutes from campus and the city of Fairbanks, you can experience the best the great outdoors has to offer with spectacular skies and a view of the Alaska Range. As the state's oldest university, the University of Alaska Fairbanks combines the traditions of 82 years as a land-grant university with the spirit to pursue the vision of the 21st century.
