St. John's University
United States
University Attributes:
Founded in 1870 by the Vincentian Community, St. John's University is one of the largest Catholic universities in the United States. Since its beginning, St. John's has maintained a commitment to foster each student's personal and intellectual growth, regardless of faith or race, and to enable them to achieve their educational goals. The early work of our founders has grown into a more than 130-year tradition of academic excellence and is reflected in a dedicated faculty, a vibrant student body, and alumni who are leaders in business, government, education, law and media. New York Resoures and Three Great Campuses The University's three New York campuses in Queens, Staten Island and Eastern Long Island, draw on the vast cultural and commercial resources of the world's greatest metropolis. Their unique combination of traditional campus settings and proximity to Manhattan provide students with opportunities unavailable at other institutions in the United States. Whether working on Wall Street, brainstorming with a Madison Avenue ad agency, interning at a major television network, or helping out in the community, St. John's students can apply their classroom training in the real world. Back on campus, a thriving student life awaits, with countless clubs and activities to engage the spirit and enrich the college experience. After all, a St. John's education is preparation for life, not just a job. A fourth campus, our Graduate Center in Rome, Italy, allows students to pursue advanced studies leading to the M.B.A. or M.A. in International Relations. Over 18,500 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled in six Colleges and Divisions -- from St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions to the School of Education and Human Services, the Peter J. Tobin College of Business and the College of Professional Studies -- the career-oriented unit for undergraduate studies. More than 100 Degree Programs are offered, from the two-year associate level to full doctorates.
