University Attributes:
The American Jewish University is one of the most dynamic institutions on the West Coast. Better known in the campus community as AJU, the undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences offers a thorough liberal arts education with a Jewish perspective. The unique balance of a mostly Jewish environment and rigorous nonsectarian academics has proven to be a highly successful combination, as evidenced by a placement rate into graduate schools that exceeds 95 percent. This success is due largely to AJUs caring and accessible faculty of distinguished scholars who teach classes of typically 7-10 students and who emphasize interactive seminars more than impersonal lectures. Frequently, a spirited classroom discussion will continue in the hallways or cafeteria.
