UMA is Maine's third largest, and most innovative, institution of higher learning, with campuses in Augusta, Bangor and Lewiston-Auburn. The University offers twenty-three baccalaureate degree programs, majors and concentrations; as well as twenty-five associate degrees and twelve occupationally oriented professional certificate programs. Our degrees are offered regionally and statewide to nearly six thousand students taking traditional academic course work, as well as live interactive telecourse instruction. As Maine's non-traditional state university, UMA has a clear focus on teaching and learning. We are proud of our history of providing access to higher education to citizens in all sixteen of the state's counties, and of the special emphasis we place on distance learning, adult education and workforce training.
