The U. offers 75 undergraduate degree programs, more than 50 teaching majors and minors, and 96 graduate majors. The University of Utah is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, and is classified by the Carnegie Foudation as one of 50 comprehensive Research I universities from among 3,700 U.S. institutions. Its various schools and colleges are accredited by their own discipline's agencies. See individual links for additional information. Located on 320 acres adjacent to the campus, the park has 34 buildings housing 44 companies and portions of 37 University departments. The park employs an estimated 6,100 people and contributes approximately $600 million annually to Utah's economy. Various companies conduct joint research with U. departments, use faculty as consultants and/or employ students. Research Park companies have added more than 4,700 jobs to the state's economy.
