Woodbury University
United States
University Attributes:
Woodbury is a specialized university committed to providing professional education in its bachelor's and master's programs. The aim is to prepare graduates who are articulate, ethical and innovative life long learners. Today, Woodbury offers bachelor's degrees in architecture, design, business, and the social sciences. Working adults can earn an undergraduate or graduate degree in business through the Universitys weekend and evening college programs. New majors in each of the degree programs continue to be added as the University maintains its tradition of meeting the needs of a changing workplace. A new major in Animation Arts was added in the fall of 1997. After relocating within the downtown area several times to respond to a growing student body, Woodbury moved to its current location, a quiet residential campus nestled below the Vergudo Foothills in Burbank, in 1987. The campus offers a pool, gymnasium and athletic field; on-campus housing in the North and South Residence Halls and dining service at Woodys Cafe; PC, Macintosh, CAD and multimedia computer labs; design studios for architecture, fashion, graphic and interior design majors; and traditional as well as on-line resources at the Universitys Los Angeles Times Library. In addition to WASC, the interior design and architecture programs have been accredited by the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research (FIDER), and the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), respectively. For 113 years, Woodburys approach to personalized education has been a Los Angeles tradition. As it enters the 21st century, Woodbury stands ready, with more than a century of experience in urban and suburban Los Angeles, to serve an increasingly demanding and diverse student population.
