Here are some other facts about Seattle Central: --Seattle Central is the only community college located in beautiful, downtown Seattle, Washington. Seattle Central was founded in 1966 and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. Seattle Central is part of the Seattle Community College District, which serves all of metropolitan Seattle and its surrounding communities, and comprises the largest community college district in the state, educating nearly 55,000 students each year. Seattle Central offers a variety of program options for (international students), including: --College Transfer: Students study for 2 years at Seattle Central and then transfer to a 4-year university to complete a Bachelor's degree. --College Bridge: This part-time college, part-time English language program allows students to take the language classes they need, and the college classes they want! --Intensive ESL: Students learn English and then enter college classes directly - there's no college entrance testing required! --Professional & Technical Programs: Students choose from more than 35 career training programs (1 - 2 years) in exciting fields such as biotechnology and apparel design. --High School Completion: Students can earn an Associate's Degree AND high school diploma together through our Fast Track program. --Short-Term Certificates: Students study one subject of choice for 3 - 15 months; they can add an internship, too, if they like! --International Internships: Students receive academic training plus guided workforce preparation, leading to a work opportunity in a local company. Seattle Central also offers a Bachelor's in Applied Science (BAS degree) in Behavioral Science. Seattle Central's excellent services and resources include career, educational and personal counseling, immigration advising, activities and trips, special workshops for international students, numerous student organizations, the College Transfer Center, an Athletic Center, dining facilities, Computer Center, Library, Art Gallery, Bookstore, Theater, and Performance Hall. In a one-time study (2001 - 2002), TIME Magazine named Seattle Central "College of the Year" for outstanding student services and educational programs, the only 2-year college selected out of 1,200 in the U.S.
Seattle Central has designated approximately UDS 85,000 a year in international student scholarships. Seattle Central also awards almost USD 300,000 in other scholarship funds to enrolled students each year, and international students are eligible to apply for most of these scholarships, too. As a group, international students at Seattle Central maintain a grade point average of greater than 3.5 on a scale of 0 - 4. Seattle Central is also currently partnered with many 4-year colleges and universities inside and outside of Washington to provide well-defined paths from two-year programs to bachelor's degree programs.

Seattle Central Community College- Int'l Programs's Mission Statement: Seattle Central Community College is a government institution with full accreditation. We are located in downtown Seattle, Washington and were honored as "College of the Year" by TIME magazine in 2001.
Seattle Central offers two year transfer degrees, professional/technical degrees and certificates, ESL, high school completion and a variety of other programs to approximately 10,000 students per year, including over 1,000 international students (student visas).
